History
First established in 1949 and revised fourteen times since, JSIC underpins Japan’s economic census, business registers and official statistics.
Usage & importance
Used across Japanese government statistics, the Economic Census and corporate registrations. Direct cross-system mappings are limited — JSIC is not numbered on ISIC and no official Rev-14 correspondence is published yet.
