India’s National Industrial Classification, maintained by the Ministry of Statistics (MoSPI). NIC 2025 follows ISIC Rev 5 at its upper levels and adds six-digit national subclasses for Indian detail.

First introduced in 1962 and revised through 1970, 1987, 1998, 2004 and 2008, NIC keeps India’s industrial statistics aligned with the international ISIC standard; NIC 2025 tracks ISIC Rev 5.
