Statistical Classification of Economic Activities
NACE is the European Union’s statistical classification of economic activities. Rev. 2.1 (2023) is fully aligned with ISIC Rev 5 at section and division level, adding European class detail below.

History
Maintained by Eurostat and mandated across EU member states, NACE was revised to Rev. 2.1 in 2023 to track ISIC Rev 5, taking effect for EU statistics from 2025.
Usage & importance
Legally required for EU business registers and statistics. UK SIC 2026 is built directly on NACE Rev 2.1, which makes European conversions on this site exceptionally reliable.
