What 2221 includes

• This class comprises establishments principally engaged in manufacturing steel ingots using converters or electric furnaces, or manufacturing section steel, steel bars, wire rods, thick plate, sheet metal, band steel, steel pipes, and other steel materials from those steel ingots.

What 2221 excludes

• Establishments with suspended converters or electric furnaces are not included in this class. Establishments that undertake integrated manufacture from blast furnace to steel materials are classified under Group 221 [2211].
