A defining characteristic of these units is that all corporate activities are focused on serving the economic units the group manages; that is, they are not provided to third parties. This sector also includes holding companies, which are economic units that own shares in other companies within the same group as part of a financial planning strategy, and holding companies that, in addition to holding the share capital of other economic units within the same group, manage and control them. The income of the economic units classified in this sector comes primarily from three sources: corporate fees, as consideration for the package of services provided to the economic units within the same group; dividends and interest, resulting from their financial or stock market activities; and royalties collected when establishing licensing agreements. The economic units classified in this sector can be identified as corporations, business groups, conglomerates, holding companies, and holding companies.holdings.
