Description

This sector comprises two subsectors that group economic units primarily engaged in providing business support services, and waste management and remediation services. Economic units classified in the first subsector provide services that are typically an integral part of the activities of economic units across all sectors of the economy, such as: business administration, recruitment and placement, document preparation, photocopying, faxing, computer and related services, telephone answering, collections, travel arrangements, security and surveillance, building cleaning, and packing and labeling of goods belonging to third parties. These economic units specialize in one or more of these support activities and can, therefore, provide services to clients across all economic sectors and, in some cases, to households. The private sector economic units that are classified in the second subsector are dedicated to providing waste management and remediation services to areas damaged by hazardous or non-hazardous materials or waste, such as waste collection, hazardous waste treatment, waste disposal, recovery and sorting of non-hazardous recyclable materials, and rehabilitation and cleanup of contaminated areas.
