Description
Economic units primarily engaged in the production and presentation of artistic and cultural performances; the presentation of professional sporting events; the promotion of various artistic, cultural, sporting, and similar events; the representation and management of artists, athletes, and similar individuals; and the creation and production, on their own account, of artistic and cultural works or the provision of the necessary technical expertise to carry out such work. The structuring of this subsector was based on the identification of four basic processes: 1) event production, that is, the presentation of the event; 2) event organization, management, and promotion; 3) artist management and representation; and 4) providing the technical, artistic, and creative skills necessary for the production of these live events. The structure for this subsector distinguishes between artistic companies and independent artists and technicians. However, independent musical groups and artists are classified together under the category of Singers and Musical Groups because it is difficult to distinguish between musical companies and independent musicians.
